Dr. Robert Payne

Dr Rob has had 24 years of experience in treating all sorts of medical and surgical problems in all sorts of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, and even reptiles, are no obstacle.

Dr Rob has training in a new surgical procedures, like orthopedic repair or ranial cruciate ligament rupture (the major ligament in the knee), and has already performed a number of these procedures in the new Clinic in Hamilton Street.

Robert has a keen interst in the dental care of your pet, and knows just how important dental health is to the overall health of your animal.  
His experience and drive to ensure total health of your pet enables him to perform routine dental fillings, even root canal treatments, saving your pet pain and complications associated with tooth removal. 

Dr Rob moved to the Macedon Ranges 6 years ago with his family.  
His wife Marika works at Sacred Heart College in Kyneton, 2 of his children go to Braemar College and the youngest to Holy Cross Primary School.
He has a large managery of pets himself, more than 15!
The move to the country was an obvious choice for the Payne Family and their friendly mob of critters.

He is delighted at the masses of community support he has recieved with the opening of his New Clinic, and prides himself on providing Quality, Affordable, Friendly Small Animal Care to the Macedon Ranges Community.

   

Nurse Kim Sheridan

Kim Sheridan has had 11 years of Veterinary Nursing Experience, and has worked with surgical and medical specialists at the University of Melbourne, as well as several private practices and emergency centers, in and around Melbourne.

She started her Nursing Career here in the Macedon Ranges, and upon settling into her new "Country Lifestyle" outside Kilmore, with her Partner Aaron, their fleet of furry and feathered friends, has graced the Hamilton Street Veterinary Clinic with her enthusiasm and compassion for animals great and small.

She has an incomparable compassion for pain management in all animals and will ensure that your pet is comforatble at all rimte when being treated either menatlly, medically or surgically.

She has a keen interest in obedience training, and animal behaviours.  
She runs our Puppy Pre-School Classes, and will be able to provide you with all the right advice not only with your new puppy, but will hopefully be able to help with behavioural queeries regarding your pussy cats, bunnies, or birds.

Kim also has experience with the New Pet Insurance industry.  She will be able to point you in the right direction to ensure that your pet will be covered against accidents and illness. 

   

Trainee Vet Nurse Melanie Shaw

Melanie has lived in the Macedon Ranges area for nearly her whole life, and has grown up in the country around a vast array of different animals; horses, dogs, cats, mice, and snakes!
She when she isn't working at the Clinic, she is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist.

Whilst Melanie has never worked in the Veterinary feild before, is does not shy from getting her hands dirty, and is keen to learn and grow with the new Clinic here in Gisborne.
She is starting her 2 year Vet' Nursing Course in January- and working with us here at the Clinic to gain some experience under her belt before she goes back to school.
